A powerful new musical for families (ages 10+) by Ashli St Armant about a teenage boy & his mother who escape slavery through the Underground Railroad. While acknowledging the realities of slavery, the narrative explores themes of optimism, bravery, playfulness, wonder, suspense and mystery with original musical compositions steeped in jazz and other historically Black music genres.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
From the micro systems at work in the human body, to the macro forces— the environmental, social, cultural, and political—that shape how we see self and other, the artworks featured in Fragile Figures: Beings and Time illuminate the complexity of identity, revealing intersections between vulnerability and power in portraiture. Individual and group identity are approached through direct references to noted works from art history, connecting past events to current issues.
