Fragile Figures: Beings and Time learn more
21C BENTONVILLE Feb 2024 - Jan 2025
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
From the micro systems at work in the human body, to the macro forces— the environmental, social, cultural, and political—that shape how we see self and other, the artworks featured in Fragile Figures: Beings and Time illuminate the complexity of identity, revealing intersections between vulnerability and power in portraiture. Individual and group identity are approached through direct references to noted works from art history, connecting past events to current issues.

EXHIBITION | GALLERIES MOMENTARY MAY 25 – OCT 13, 2024
Mystic Parallax is the first major monograph (co-published by the Momentary and Aperture) and exhibition by this rising interdisciplinary artist. It blends his studio practice with work made as an in-demand editorial photographer, and features his conceptual portraits of leading Black cultural figures, such as Amanda Gorman, Michael B. Jordan, Pharrell Williams, and Solange. As Erizku has said, “It’s important for me to create confident, powerful, downright regal images of Black people.”
